ANTENNA PROJECTS LENGTH CONVERSION

Use these converters and calculators to
convert from one measurement to another!

How many times have you found that fantastic antenna design, project or plan on the internet but were stopped cold because it used lengths in Centimeters, Millimeters, Feet, Inches, Yards, etc.

The calculators, converters and other information on this page will enable you to easily convert from one measurement to another. Have fun!.....

The converters below are easy to use but you must have Java enabled on your browser to get the FIRST converter below to work. The second converter below is a non-working version and must be downloaded and saved to your computer for operation.

The first one covers just about any measurment conversion you could ever want.
The most frequent conversions for Amateur Radio use are highlighted in red.

It is calibrated against the "Angstrom unit".
What Is an Angstrom?
Electromagnetic radiation travels in waves. Scientists use the length of the wave (the distance between peaks) to define the energy of the radiation. Astronomers measure this length in "angstroms," a unit of measure equal to 1 hundred-millionth of a centimeter. It's a convenient shorthand to avoid writing lots of zeroes when talking about the wavelengths of light. In everyday terms, a sheet of paper is approximately 1,000,000 angstroms thick. Visible light covers the range from 4,000 to 8,000 angstroms.

The calibrate button on the first converter is used to calibrate all the different measurements conversions against a standard.
You do not have to calibrate it.
This is just included in the Program for those interested..

To use the online converter...just click your cursor into the unit window you wish to convert....type in the measurement....click "calculate" button at bottom.
If you would like to save the convertor to your computer, use your browser and select "Save as" Web page complete.... into your favorite folder.
This will include the html code in the file.
The calculator won't work without it!
You must have Java capabilities turned on for this convertor to work!
To open later just find the folder and open it as a web page.
