This radio has great performance and is very rugged. Is has outlasted 2
batteries, survived desert heat and worked well when I have left it
overnight in my car during a Michigan winter. I have hit a repeater 40
miles away working from the roof of a building. This is a purchase worth
many times the cost.

This
radio is a bargain! It would be difficult to program for a new ham
though, and lacks a scan feature. You also have to program the
channel and PL info in before listening to a desired frequency. It
is remarkably easy to use for a novice once it is programmed. The
manual is in broken english. The selling price is competetive. With
stock antenna it has comparable performance to my Yaesu VX-6r in an
urban enviroment with the Yaesu rubber duck. |
