THE KL7JR/K7ICE DX ROVING MOBILE

MAN, THIS IS HAM RADIO!

The "Icemobile" (WA license plate K7ICE) is a totally self-contained DX machine custom outfitted for island operations and contesting up North.
 
My 2002 "Rogue" Class C (by McKenzie) is 32 feet long and equipped with:

-Ford Econoline E450 loaded (1 1/2 ton) w/ Triton V-10 engine, AT, PS, CC,

-AC, leather captain chairs etc.

-15 foot long slide-out, roof ladder, under floor storage (for masts!), Arctic package (Helps keep the drinks colder)

-25" color tv, VCR, CD, 50 amp service, microwave oven, roof AC, gas heat, gas stove, various electric heaters

-large upright refrigerator and freezer (AC, gas or DC), shower (not used much, too busy with ham radio!), marine toilet( used often), couch and fold-out bed, queen bed in master bedroom,

-55 gallon gas tank and capacity to carry 25 gals, (that's gallons), spare gas

-three 12 volt RV batteries, 4 kw onboard Onan generator w/all controls inside coach, 1kw Honda generator for a spare.

-floor penetration for three coax cables, two-person booth for eating and operating radio

-under floor storage for 100 feet of mast, antennas and several rolls of coax

-comes with two OPARs (One Person Antenna Raisers) and several mast assemblies.

Main Amateur Radio station (portable)

TS-570D and TS-50 (spare) xcvr, AL-80B amp, T-3000 tuner, A3S tribander, (A-99 vertical, & 5 BTV vertical, FT-840 xcvr and SB-200 amp for back up).

Secondary station (mobile) 

TS-50 xcvr, Z-100 tuner, Outbacker vertical and several Ice Stix verticals (modified Wilson FGT CB antennas by KL7JR)

Editors Note: After a long day behind the wheel, (the VFO), John and friends like to kick back, relax, chase some more DX over the glaciers and thru the woods......looking for that elusive one....a hot cup of coffee,
a piece of cake....and eat it toooooo!
What a way to travel with Ham Radio!
